Dear Hebron Zion Family and Friends:
Isaiah 43:19: “19 I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” ( The Holy Bible, Newly Revised Standard Version)
Happy New Year from our family to each of you! My siblings in Christ, God has truly been good to us! God has brought us through other difficult year amid a pandemic that continues to ravage our world. But here’s the good news: we are still yet alive, living, working, caring, comforting and loving one another, all while praying for an end to COVID-19. Last year brought challenges, but, by the grace of God, we have managed together as a church family. We continue to pray for those who are sick and homebound, along with their caregivers. We continue to mourn with those who lost loved ones, husbands, wives, sisters, brothers, aunts and uncles. Through it all, we say, Hallelujah, any old how, because as believers we know that our loved ones are present with God. As we embark on a new year, let us pay close attention to what God is calling us to do as the church, as well as individually. Each year some of us make resolutions to do better in regard to how we treat people, how we treat ourselves, i.e., our physical and mental health, and how we can be of service to others. We often miss the mark with our resolutions, but it does not stop us from trying.
This year, let us resolve to do something that will benefit us all—let us resolve to keep Jesus Christ first. Let us resolve to be spirit-led by allowing the Holy Spirit to do the transformative work in our hearts, minds, attitudes and ways of thinking. Let us resolve together, to see the “new thing” God is going to do in the life of this ministry. Let us resolve to do something good! As we prepare to enter into year three of this global pandemic, let us remember where and what God has brought us through. Let us remember that the same God that brought our ancestors out of bondage and the Jim Crow era, is the same God that guides us today.
May this year bring you all bountiful blessings! Pastor Pat
